I got tired of organising pickup games in group chats, so I built an app for it

Wait 5 sec.

I play pickup games with friends, and organising them through group chats was always a pain. Someone asks "who's in?", half the replies are "maybe", nobody knows how many are actually coming, and on the day we're still a few players short. So I decided to build an app to help me with that. It's called scrim. - Every game has a roster, so everyone can see who's in and how many spots are left - You can find public games near you on a map or a list and take a spot in one tap - You can start your own game and send one link. Anyone with the link can take a spot by typing their name, with no account and no install - It covers ten sports, from football and basketball to padel and field hockey It's built with React Native + cloudflare workers as backend. Short demo attached It isn't open yet. If you want to try it when it is, there's a waitlist at joinscrim.com. I'd love some feedback: is this how your games get organised too, and what would make you leave the group chat for something like this? submitted by /u/redducks100 [link] [comments]
