Democrat Blake Gendebien wants to go to Washington and lecture New Yorkers about protecting the environment. According to a sworn statement filed with the New York State Police, he can’t even keep his own backyard from turning into a landfill, and the garbage is spilling toward a waterway where North Country families swim, fish, and draw their water. On Monday, Gendebien’s opponent, Republican congressional candidate Anthony Constantino, held a press conference to reveal the findings of a private investigation into Gendebien’s farm, and demanded the appropriate authorities launch their own investigation immediately. The investigation produced a supporting deposition, filed with the State Police on October 1 by investigator Nathan Couture of Brooks Investigations, that relays the account of a confidential witness who worked on Gendebien’s farm.According to the sworn statement, Gendebien directed his own workers to haul garbage into a wooded creek area behind his property, which feeds the St. Lawrence River. According to testimony, this was routine, and it was done for one reason: to dodge waste disposal fees. Gendebien kept the money, and Upstate New York got his trash. In late July, investigators flew a drone over the woods and the creek. The images show a dumpsite nearly the size of two basketball courts, choked with garbage, with debris thrown straight into the water. This isn’t a stray bag blown off a truck. It’s an operation.Photo provided to The Gateway PunditPhoto provided to The Gateway PunditA waste removal service estimates the cleanup will cost $200,000 and believes the site may contain hazardous waste. That’s the legacy sitting behind the farm of the man Democrats want representing NY-21: a six-figure heap of trash and possible toxins, draining toward one of the most important waterways in North America.Gendebien fraudulently sells himself to voters as a farmer who loves the land, but he routinely refuses to tell reporters what share of his own farm he owns, claiming he “doesn’t know.” If the sworn account is true, his idea of loving the land is backing a truck up to a creek and leaving the bill to everyone downstream.“If Blake won’t care for his land, we can’t trust him to care for us,” Constantino said at the press conference, calling Gendebien a rule breaker with an abusive temperament. “It’s shameful that Gendebien would run for Congress knowing he brazenly pollutes the land. I suspect Kathy Hochul knows he did this and demand she go on record stating if she still supports him.”Constantino called on Gendebien to pay for the cleanup immediately and said that if he refuses, Governor Hochul should personally foot the bill. If Albany Democrats want to prop up this candidate, they can pay to haul away his garbage too.Gendebien’s response was to whine, and shift blame. Speaking to a local reporter, he blamed fuel prices and lashed out at the investigators. “Six-dollar diesel is making farming hard enough without this weirdo drone stalking my home and business,” Gendebien said. “I’ve already been cleared here.”The “cleared” he’s hiding behind came from Kathy Hochul’s DEC, the agency run by the same governor Constantino is demanding answer for her support of Gendebien. A Hochul agency waved through a Hochul-backed Democrat in the middle of a congressional race. Gendebien didn’t say the garbage isn’t there, and he didn’t offer to clean it up. Confronted with aerial photos of tires in a creek on his property, the Democrat running for Congress complained about gas prices and slandered investigators as “weird.”The DEC may have closed the book, but the trash hasn’t gone anywhere. The drone images still show it, the waste company still prices the cleanup at $200,000, and the sworn statement still sits with the State Police. Blake Gendebien can blame diesel and drones all he wants. North Country voters can see what’s in those woods. The Gateway Pundit has reached out to Gendebien’s campaign for a comment.
