Friends, relatives, colleagues and members of Malta’s Moroccan community have gathered to bid an emotional farewell to Abdellatif Oumakhlouf, the 31-year-old man killed in Paceville last month. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Oumakhlouf’s coffin was brought outside the mortuary at Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, where those gathered stood around it in prayer before his body began its journey back to his family in Morocco.His uncle described him as a good young man who did not look for trouble, while thanking Malta’s Moroccan community for supporting the family and helping arrange his repatriation.Oumakhlouf’s body is expected to arrive in Morocco on Friday, allowing his family to finally lay him to rest.The farewell comes little more than a week after Oumakhlouf was found dead at Spinola Gardens in St Julian’s following an early-morning altercation.A 27-year-old Polish tourist, Sebastian Malinowski, has since been charged in connection with Oumakhlouf’s death.
