Tottenham loanee Yang Min-hyeok has finally opened his account for the season at Westerlo, netting his first goal despite not yet starting a match.Yang Min-hyeok has enjoyed a fruitful October so far after a slow start to life in Belgium on loan with Westerlo. The young winger had not managed a start since completing his move in the summer transfer window, instead featuring twice from the bench.Unfortunately for Yang, that trend continued in Westerlo’s latest outing against Antwerp, with the teenager handed only five minutes of action.Photo by Lampson Yip/Lampson Yip/Clicks ImagesTottenham’s Yang Min-hyeok scores first goal for WesterloThis time, however, the Korean youngster made the most of his time on the pitch as he grabbed his first goal for the Belgian side.It was a well-taken strike, very much Heung-min Son-esque, with Yang cutting in from the right onto his left foot before curling into the top corner following a fast break. The goal proved to be the icing on the cake for Westerlo, who thumped Antwerp 5-1 in round eight of the Belgian Pro League.Watch Yang Min-hyeok’s first goal for Westerlo below:와 양민혁 환상적인 원더골!!⚽️⚽️⚽️드디어 벨기에 리그 데뷔골!설마 이걸 감아차기로 넣을줄이야ㅠㅠㅠㅠ pic.twitter.com/PnddfdKBRO— 비누라떼🍀 (@blacktea9797) October 11, 2026Yang follows in Heung-min Son’s footstepsThis latest strike came shortly after the Korean impressed with South Korea’s U23 side during the September international break.Yang once again followed in the footsteps of Heung-min Son, helping South Korea win a gold medal at the Asian Games. With that triumph, Yang and his South Korean teammates are now exempt from military service, just as Son was when he won gold in Indonesia. The Tottenham star now only needs to complete basic military training, lasting about three weeks, along with other sports-related volunteer hours, meaning he can continue his career in Europe uninterrupted.READ MORE: Tottenham’s Mikey Moore backs up his big words with impressive Rhine derby winThe post Video: Tottenham's Yang Min-hyeok scores first Westerlo goal, and it's a corker appeared first on Spurs Web.
