Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, is continuing its partnership with FC Bayern München, which began in 2023. The German record champion is extending the collaboration to further develop payment processes at the Allianz Arena and in global e-commerce together with Adyen. The switch to Adyen’s platform reduced the average processing time per payment transaction at the stadium from 30 to 27 seconds. This time savings of three seconds per transaction enables the club and its catering partner, DO & CO, to process approximately 10 % more kiosk transactions on match days at the Allianz Arena, which attracts up to 75,000 visitors—particularly during the heavily trafficked 15-minute halftime break.A Unified Payment Infrastructure for Fans WorldwideAs a unified commerce partner, Adyen consolidates all of FC Bayern München’s sales channels on a single central platform:Use of mobile terminals in the stadium: The terminals used at the Allianz Arena can be managed centrally. Mobile all-in-one devices with standalone SIM cards enable catering teams and beer servers in the stands to process payments flexibly, independent of the stadium’s Wi-Fi. In the FC Bayern stores, mobile terminals and Tap to Pay reduce wait times.International focus: In e-commerce, FC Bayern now offers its fans over 250 payment methods in more than 200 countries. During the Summer Tour in Asia, the tailored local payment methods led to triple-digit percentage growth in online sales in the respective markets. At the Allianz Arena, international guests can pay via Alipay+ using a QR code, among other options.Donation feature at the terminal: Through Adyen Giving, fans can donate directly at the terminal to FC Bayern Hilfe e.V., the club’s official non-profit charitable foundation. Since Adyen waives transaction fees, 100 %of the donations go to the organization, generating five-figure amounts on big game days.“What matters in this partnership is this: The perfect stadium experience simply has to be fun for our fans. The payment process should run seamlessly and invisibly in the background,” said Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern’s Executive Board Member for Marketing & Sales. “Thanks to our partnership with Adyen, this is the case throughout our Allianz Arena as well as in our stores, among other places. Together, we form an extremely innovative team that sets global benchmarks and is constantly evolving. This benefits Adyen, FC Bayern München, and—above all—our fans in their day-to-day lives.”“At major events, payment isn’t just a supporting player—it’s crucial to the fan experience,” said Hella Fuhrmann, Country Manager for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at Adyen. “The extension of our partnership with FC Bayern München proves that our technology sets the standard for the entire live entertainment industry—when maximum performance runs in the background, it creates real added value for fans and event organizers.”NoYesPayments13 Oct, 2026
