He scored some important goals for them last season when they were battling against relegation.“He’s still under a long-term contract until 2030, so he will be coming back refreshed after the international break and ready to hit the ground running.“Tottenham are going to need him if they are to move up the league table, and from his point of view, he is focused on staying fit and getting back amongst the goals.”Solanke backed by De Zerbi despite criticismThe transfer plan makes sense given that Solanke currently stands as the only recognised forward at the club. Richarlison’s issues following several failed transfers have since seen Spurs leave him out of their Premier League squad. While Solanke did miss a few good opportunities against United, he showed a determination not to give up in pursuit of a goal, and that persistence was ultimately rewarded.Roberto De Zerbi was pleased with the forward’s contribution, saying: “He deserves to be a captain today, because he suffered maybe too much, because ‘Tottenham didn’t win, Tottenham didn’t score, who is the striker of Tottenham? Solanke is not good enough’, it’s not true. Solanke is good enough to play, maybe he is the best striker for us, because of his qualities.“He is a complete player, he is a good guy, he has personality, he has to feel good in terms of his physical condition, but he is a great player, and I wanted to show what is my confidence, and what is the importance I give him in this team.”READ MORE: Five things Roberto De Zerbi will be working on with Tottenham in MarbellaThe post How Dominic Solanke feels about his Tottenham future as Spurs search for new striker appeared first on Spurs Web.
