Last week, Disneyland Resort quietly installed construction walls around parts of Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, blocking much of the walkway to the Quick-Service dining location in Bayou Country. Here’s what Southern California Disney Park guests need to know.Construction Walls Block Bayou Country Area at Disneyland ParkHungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree is located in Bayou Country, known as Critter Country before the 2024 transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Signs on the walls, which run parallel to the upstairs patio, read “Our Grill Is Open. Come On In!” Lanterns with bear motifs hang above the signs to illuminate them at nighttime. Green scrim connects to the end of the construction walls, crossing into existing flowerbeds in Bayou Country. The construction work is visible from the upstairs patio of Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. Wooden fences that once surrounded the flowerbeds in the blocked-off area have been mostly dismantled, and a digger sits on a cleared patch of dirt where greenery once grew. It’s unclear whether this is a general maintenance project or whether the area will look significantly different to Southern California Disney Park guests when it reopens.Credit: DisneyDisneyland Resort has not announced any plans for the area around Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country, nor has it indicated when the construction will end. The Quick-Service dining location continues to serve its full menu to Disneyland Park guests, with in-person and Mobile Ordering options available. Other Bayou Country attractions, including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, also remain open.Do you prefer Bayou Country or the original Critter Country at Disneyland Park?
