Kerala University accords farewell to graduating international students - The HinduUpdated - May 26, 2026 11:20 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAMKerala University organised a farewell programme for 60 outgoing international students, including 20 undergraduate (UG) and 40 postgraduate (PG) students.Vice-Chancellor in-charge Mohanan Kunnummal presided over the meeting, while Pardeep Kumar, zonal director (South), Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), inaugurated the event. Aminath Shifana, Consul General of Maldives, was the guest of honour on the occasion.According to Sabu Joseph, director of the Centre for Global Academics that oversees international student admissions, Kerala University has received the highest number of students for its UG, PG and PhD programmes through the ICCR portal during the last five years in the State.The number of applications have significantly grown from 1,100 students in 2021-22 to 2,620 in 2025-26. The university admits nearly 110 foreign students on an average every year.As many as 264 students from 63 countries currently pursue various courses in the university.
