Scorching heat gripped many Indian states on Sunday. Brahmapuri in Maharashtra recorded the highest temperature at 47.2 degrees Celsius. Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab also experienced severe heatwave conditions. While some relief is forecast from May 29, heatwave conditions are expected to persist in Central and Northwest India for another week.
