Poornachandra KumarIn view of the general rise in road accidents, the district administration has taken up measures to increase the vehicle patrol on highways leading to Tirupati.The Tirupati district police received special road safety equipment and drug testing kits, which are meant to be used on the highways and on mobile patrol vehicles. District Collector S. Venkateswar and Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu handed over the same to the police personnel engaged on highway surveillance duty on Wednesday.The staff of the five mobile traffic road safety vehicles received safety reflective jackets, traffic baton lights, safety traffic cones, radium reflective tape rolls, besides water bottles, sunglasses, caps and torchlights.
