The Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works has announced the completion of major infrastructure works along Triq il-Gudja, connecting Ħal Luqa and Gudja.The project forms part of the government’s “Vjal Kulħadd” initiative and focused on creating safer and more sustainable mobility infrastructure.For the first time, the road now includes a segregated lane dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians, offering a safer connection between the two localities. The road was also redesigned with two traffic lanes, one in each direction, to improve accessibility for vehicles.New trees and shrubs were planted along the route as part of the regeneration project.Chris Bonett said the project forms part of the wider “Malta in Motion” plan aimed at encouraging alternative transport methods such as walking and cycling.Both the Gudja and Ħal Luqa local councils welcomed the project, describing it as a major improvement for residents and commuters.Do you think Malta needs more cycling infrastructure?•
