Paonta Cholsum Settlement Organises Animal Lifesaving and Feeding Initiatives as Part of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s Birthday CelebrationsPoanta: In accordance with the Central Tibetan Administration’s designation of this year as the “Year of Compassion” to mark the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama according to the Western calendar, special initiatives were organised. To pray for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the spontaneous fulfilment of all his noble wishes, the Ghoton Committee of the Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement organised a series of events on 26 May 2026.As part of this initiative, various food items were distributed to monkeys and to a nearby cow sanctuary (Gaushala). In addition, a total of 830 fish were released and saved from slaughter.
