Yeah, for real.The Mandalorian and Grogu had a crap opening holiday weekend, to be polite about it.Inflation-adjusted it trailed Solo which was "meh" at best (yes, I've seen it and in fact own it on disk; it is my least-watched Star Wars film by a wide margin.)Not everything done since Disney bought the franchise has been a zero. Rogue One, for example, is truly enjoyable, a film I watch from time to time and fills a hole in the story line in a way that works. But much of the other films since Disney's acquisition have been, to be polite, crap.It turns out that infusing political and "social justice" messages into movies tends to drive down ticket sales, especially when the topic of the franchise is in fact what would now be called "toxic masculinity."
