So I've been unemployed for the better part of a year - not for lack of trying. Last summer, I was absolutely broke, so my daughter and I got creative. We spent tons of time outdoors. We swam in the big river that runs through our town. We watched free fireworks locally. We ate lots of hot dogs and mac n cheese. She's told me repeatedly since then that last summer was the best she's ever had - and she's a teenager. Kids don't care about what you can or can't afford, they care about spending real, quality time together. Sounds like this woman really, REALLY needs to reevaluate what she feels is important in life, how she treats people, and find a freaking ounce of gratitude for what she DOES have.
