These were older shows before more countries started cracking down harder on documents before people were allowed to board. I remember a Japanese guy who arrived with a one way ticket and he couldn't show that he had enough funds to buy a return ticket. He had no destination and thought he could wander around the country. He finally pulled a few hundred dollars cash out of his socks. He never left the airport and was put on the next plane back.
