Tottenham Hotspur secured Premier League survival on the final day of the season, and Jamie O’Hara was among those relieved after full-time against Everton, but the former midfielder believes major changes are still needed ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuild. The 2025/26 Premier League season has now come to an end, and many Tottenham Hotspur fans will be delighted to see the back of it with their Premier League status still intact. It has certainly been one of the worst campaigns of Spurs’ modern era, with the Lilywhites battling relegation for most of the season. However, it could have been far worse for Tottenham had they faltered on the final day against Everton, as defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would have confirmed Spurs’ status as a Championship side after West Ham United beat Leeds United 3-0 in their own match.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramTottenham survival sees Jamie O’Hara call for Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani exitThat matters little now, though, as a relentless Roberto De Zerbi guided Spurs to safety after picking up an impressive 11 points from seven games. That run of form ultimately saw Tottenham finish above the Hammers.TalkSport has now shared Jamie O’Hara’s reaction after the full-time whistle against Everton. The former Spurs midfielder was full of joy and relief after watching his side secure their league status ahead of next season. Reacting after full-time, he said: “Yes! Come on! Get in there! We’re in the Premier League, come on, we’ve done it! Get in all you mugs that wanted us down… we’ve done it, come on.”O’Hara then praised De Zerbi for the job he has done before naming the two players he believes Spurs should sell. Speaking about the credit the Italian deserves after Tottenham looked destined for relegation, he added: “It could’ve been an absolute disaster. Tottenham cannot be in the Championship. We cannot be in the Championship. It’s been a disaster season. “So much has gone wrong, deadwood all over the park. We’ve got to completely change everything, get rid of the deadwood, get rid of all these players that have been absolutely garbage. We’ve got the man in charge in Roberto De Zerbi, he’s a top, top manager. “Roberto De Zerbi will do things at this football club – let him have the reins and let him get on with it. But he’s got to get rid of Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani, all of them, get rid of them, they’re crap. “They’re absolutely crap and we found a way to do it. I’ve got to say a massive thanks to Aston Villa for not turning up on that day and gifting us three points – that’s the one that kept us up.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by talkSPORT (@talksport)Tottenham must back Roberto De Zerbi this summerSpurs must now learn from the mistakes made throughout this season, as there were several costly decisions. The appointment of Thomas Frank clearly set things off in the wrong direction, yet Tottenham hesitated to correct their mistake even after it became obvious the Dane was struggling. A lack of ambition in the winter transfer window, particularly when injuries hit the squad, only added to Spurs’ problems.Tottenham then followed that up with the appointment of Igor Tudor, a manager with no Premier League experience, to save a sinking ship. That stands out as one of the worst decisions the club made. Now that the Spurs finally have a manager with the drive and hunger for success, it is up to the club to build around Roberto De Zerbi properly this summer.READ MORE: Tottenham 1-0 Everton match report: How Spurs survived relegation on final dayThe post Jamie O’Hara urges De Zerbi to ‘get rid’ of Tottenham ‘deadwood’ duo once worth £120m appeared first on Spurs Web.
