More than 96% of Assistant Electoral Commissioners and police officers eligible for early voting have already cast their ballots ahead of Malta’s general election this Saturday.According to the Electoral Commission, a total of 6,561 people voted on Tuesday out of 6,821 eligible voters before polls closed at 10pm.Those eligible to vote early included Assistant Electoral Commissioners, counting hall staff, and police officers who will be working during election day and the vote counting process on 30th May.In total, over 6,000 election-related workers were given the opportunity to cast their votes in advance due to their official duties on Saturday. The strong turnout means the overwhelming majority of election workers and officers have already secured their vote days before the rest of Malta heads to polling stations. What do you make of these numbers?•
