Two final election surveys published by Times of Malta and MaltaToday ahead of Saturday’s general election are showing noticeably different trends in the gap between the Labour Party and the Nationalist Party.A final Times of Malta survey carried out by Esprimi suggests Labour’s lead has widened significantly during the campaign, projecting a gap of around 33,600 votes — an increase of roughly 14,000 votes since the campaign began. The poll places Labour at 53.5% and the PN at 42.9%.Meanwhile, MaltaToday’s final election survey presents a narrower picture, projecting Labour ahead by around 18,000 votes, with the possible range varying between 12,607 and 28,775 votes depending on turnout and statistical modelling. The MaltaToday survey also points to a substantial undecided electorate, with 11.7% of voters — estimated at around 41,571 people — still unsure who they will vote for. Both surveys were conducted during the final weeks of the campaign but used different sample sizes, turnout projections and modelling techniques, contributing to the contrasting results ahead of election day.Which poll do you think is more accurate?Credit: Times of Malta/MaltaToday•
