In his message to the fans, the Tottenham midfielder praised the atmosphere inside the stadium and admitted he felt proud every time he wore the shirt during his comeback appearances. He wrote: “Our support is the best out there and I truly believe that. We would not have avoided disaster without your spirit and fight in the stadium today. A season of recovering from big surgery for me but even in these last few games I feel pure pride and joy every time I get the opportunity to wear this Spurs shirt. Love you all Tottenham Hotspur.
