Barcelona will hold fresh talks with Manchester United before the World Cup to try and sign Marcus Rashford.Barcelona have already agreed personal terms with the England attacker and talkSPORT understands the LaLiga champions wish to make his transfer permanent, despite reports in Spain claiming the club’s interest has cooled.Rashford has 28 goal involvements for Barcelona this seasonAFPThe 28-year-old has scored 14 goals and got 14 assists in 49 appearances this season and wishes to stay in Spain. His loan from Manchester United includes a €30m [£26m] option to buy. United have to date informed Barcelona to trigger it if they wish to secure Rashford, pointing to the fact it is below his market valuation.Barcelona sporting director Deco has tried to restructure the proposed deal. His favoured option is to agree a second season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy based on a small number of appearances.Yet Barcelona have not ruled out paying the €30m [£26m] even though they wish to exhaust other options first. Even with Champions League football, they must satisfy LaLiga’s strict financial rules.Rashford, who has made Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, has no future at Old Trafford despite his strong form, and United’s preference is to get his wage off the books. This has risen by 25 per cent after Manchester United qualified for the Champions League.Barcelona are optimistic on signing Rashford, knowing the wage is an unwanted cost to United, and because Michael Carrick‘s side are looking to add a left-sided attacker.Barcelona have also been linked in Spain with both Chelsea‘s Pedro Neto and Real Betis’ Ez Abde, and do have a buy back on the latter, but sources insist neither are concrete targets as it stands. The priority is to sign Rashford, who is waiting for Barcelona and Manchester United to find a solution which, in the end, could simply see Barca trigger the €30m [£26m] clause.Barcelona’s other optionsBarcelona also want to add another attacker and both Atletico Madrid‘s Julian Alvarez and Chelsea’s Joao Pedro are genuine targets.Atletico Madrid won’t sanction a sale for less than the €120m Barcelona paid to them to sign Antoine Griezmann in 2019. Pedro scored 20 goals in all competitions for Chelsea this seasonGettyYet the ex-Manchester City forward is open to the move if the clubs can agree a fee. Arsenal and PSG are also tracking Alvarez, who is no closer to signing a new deal at Atletico as he keeps his summer options open. Some exploratory meetings have also taken place between Barcelona and Joao Pedro’s camp, but Chelsea hold a firm not for sale stance. Sources say the club has no plans to lose the Brazilian striker this summer and would even turn down a world-record bid.
