How I read Trend Lines (NIFTY)Nifty 50 IndexNSE:NIFTYaskbiswanath2025Friends, You have likely often drawn trend lines on charts, and the rules for doing so may have differed somewhat—typically, a trend line is drawn by connecting the normal low to higher lower low, and higher to lower highs. (I have consistently drawn trend lines connecting the lower lows and highs; however, my trend lines do occasionally experience a breakdown.) I have just demonstrated this to you using the daily timeframe; however, you can apply this process to any timeframe—whether it be 5 minutes, 15 minutes, one hour, or any other. The waves forming above or below a trend line often consist of three distinct waves. I observed that whenever a trend line is broken, it often transitions into a wave extension. This means the size of the wave increases. I believe, It is not always possible for the peak of every wave to be higher than the peak of the preceding wave, as market movements typically fall into three categories: uptrends, downtrends, and sideways trends. And in a sideways market, peaks are sometimes lower than the previous peaks. It often happens that while the trend is down on a larger time frame, on a shorter time frame, the trend is actually moving up.You can also enjoy shorter time frames. Often, the best opportunity to catch a trade along a trend line presents itself at the end of the first wave—a point that is also referred to as a "pullback." For intraday traders, 5-minute and 15-minute trend lines offer opportunities for substantial profits. Even if trading activity is limited, if you initiate a trade during the "Wave 1" phase, you can rest assured that you will comfortably ride the move through the next two waves—without experiencing any FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). The reason for this is that if one enters a trade at the entry point of an incorrect trendline, losses begin to mount immediately; consequently, the individual loses the confidence to remain in that position. If you can effectively incorporate trend lines into your trading—or continue to practice using them—I believe you will gain a wealth of prior insight into the market's prevailing trends. Consequently, your perspective on observing the market could ascend to an entirely different level. Thank you.
