A total of 22 entries remain at the latest forfeit stage in Sunday's G1 Prix du Jockey Club, among them Andre Fabre's Komorebi. Owned by Godolphin, the bay was second to Rayif (Sea The Moon) in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains on May 10.The colt, by Pinatubo, would be the fifth winner of the iconic race for his 80-year-old trainer who previously celebrated victories with Peintre Celebre (1997), Lope De Vega (2010), Intello (2013), and New Bay in 2015.“He ran a really nice race and he will now go for the Prix du Jockey Club,” said Fabre. “He showed there that he could go further and he would probably prefer better ground as well.“It looked like a step up in trip would suit him. Even though he's by Pinatubo, the way he runs gives you encouragement.”Aidan O'Brien is responsible for seven entries, including Constitution River (Wootton Bassett) and Hawk Mountain (Wootton Bassett). Karl Burke's Hankelow (Night Of Thunder), Francis-Henri Graffard's Daryzan (Zarak) and Donnacha O'Brien's A Boy Named Susie (Starspangledbanner) were all left in.Fabre is also hoping to give Godolphin's My Highness (Ghaiyyath) another shot at Classic honours in the G1 Prix de Diane after she finished ninth behind True Love (No Nay Never) in the G1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. The trainer is hoping that warmer weather will allow the G2 Prix du Calvados heroine to improve her condition ahead of the Chantilly Classic set for June 14.“I'm not yet totally satisfied with her since she returned from Newmarket,” said Fabre. “Ideally I would like to prepare her for the Prix de Diane, but so far I'm a bit worried she might not be ready in time as she is not exactly as well as I hoped.“I thought her performance was of a filly lacking condition, she probably would have preferred to come from behind but that was not how she ran. Time will tell, hopefully the weather will warm up which might help her.”The post Fabre Aiming For Fifth Jockey Club With Komorebi appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
