Group winner Pearled Majesty will be ridden by Cristian Demuro in the 2100-metre G1 Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.Co-owned by former trainer Criquette Head and trainer Mauricio Delcher Sanchez, the son of Persian King won the G3 Prix Noailles in preparation for this Classic at ParisLongchamp in April. He will be the first runner in the Classic for Delcher Sanchez, a former multiple champion trainer in Spain.“We have always thought highly of Pearled Majesty,” said Delcher Sanchez, who has been based at Chantilly since 2013. “Since his comeback, he has continued to improve. His latest victory [on April 12 in the Prix Noailles] was a genuine confirmation race against already serious opposition. Today, he arrives at his peak: he is doing very well, in top form, and has enough experience. All the lights are green.“As we cannot have Christophe Soumillon [who partnered him in his last three starts], Pearled Majesty will be ridden by Cristian Demuro. We are very happy to have him. He is a jockey I know very well, someone very pleasant and already highly experienced in these types of races.”He added, “I have been based in France for more than ten years and having a runner in the Jockey Club means a tremendous amount. Of course, we have already had Group horses and experienced great emotions, but taking part in a race like this is exactly why we do this job.”The field for the €1.5-million race has been reduced to 19 possibles after the withdrawals of Causeway (Wootton Bassett), Christmas Day (Camelot) and Elastic (Lope De Vega) at the latest forfeit stage. The last day to supplement at a cost of €72,000 is on Wednesday. The post Cristian Demuro To Ride Pearled Majesty In Prix Du Jockey Club appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
