This is what I don't understand, you know your child's birthday is coming up, its the same date every year, why would you not save, put money aside(just a little each month) until you have enough for presents and cake? Kids don't need a bunch of expensive crap and a 3 tiered cake. Do what you can do and they will appreciate it more.
