‘Worst flight of my life’: Lufthansa passenger left soaked, burned, and weeping after being hold to ‘shut up’ about wet seat

Wait 5 sec.

Lufthansa is generally considered a solid and reputable airline. Maybe not the finest in the world, but they should get you to your destination with a minimum of fuss and in one piece. Or at least that’s the theory. Passenger Aixa Rizzo discovered the reality can be quite different. She took to X to take us through what she described as the “worst flight of my life”, and after reading it, we can only agree with her. worst flight of my life on @lufthansaattendant spills ginger ale on me at takeoff. ok, accidents happenhours later another attendant spills HOT tea on me. i get burned. clothes, seat, everything soakedi ask for a dry seat. crew manager arrives 30 min later YELLING at mei…— Aixa (@aixarizzo) May 25, 2026 Rizzo claims that things started badly right from take-off, when a flight attendant accidentally spilled a ginger ale over her on takeoff. Despite this inconvenience, she remained calm, telling herself, “ok, accidents happen.” Sheer misery Then, “hours later another attendant spills HOT tea on me. i get burned. clothes, seat, everything soaked”. Quite reasonably, Rizzo then requested that they be moved to a dry seat. This was apparently met with aggression from the crew manager, who arrived half an hour later, “YELLING at me”. The crew manager is then said to have threatened Rizzo with being detained on landing if they continue to request compensation, causing her to burst into tears. The crew decided to come up with a “solution”, which turned out to be a $5 coupon to get her clothes cleaned. Things only escalated: “I tell her i’m recording. she switches to german to keep yelling and told me that i can’t record i have video. but i’d rather not post me crying with my burnt leg out here. Then on my connection flight they charged me for the carry-on that was included and approved on my previous Lufthansa flight.” They rightly conclude that this was the “worst travel experience of my life” and that they’re “honestly not sure what to do”. to everyone saying i'm lying:this is a screenshot. i have the full videosone of them is of the crew manager mistreating me. i have her namein the videos you can see me:– crying– taking my pants off to show the burn– applying the burn cream lufthansa gave me– in only a… https://t.co/NAXiS8RnkU pic.twitter.com/MKCxOrjH4V— Aixa (@aixarizzo) May 25, 2026 Lufthansa’s customer support team (or at least a bot acting for them) responded to the message, saying they’re “sorry to hear about your experience”, with Rizzo confirming that an official report is being filed: I'm filling the report. I wish a fast and proper reply.— Aixa (@aixarizzo) May 25, 2026 You will, of course, be aware that air travel nightmares are hardly uncommon. A United Airlines passenger was also left “soaked” in a mystery liquid on a recent flight, a mom faced misery trying to keep her family together on a Southwest flight, and even after you arrive at your destination you aren’t safe, as the passengers trapped aboard this American Airlines flight discovered. Here’s hoping Rizzo gets some justice. Or even a proper apology!
