Lo-Fi Games, creators of hit indie title Kenshi, have been reluctant to share just about anything on the development of Kenshi 2. We know that it’s in development and that it will run on UE5, but we might be closer to more info than we’d hoped. In a recent announcement by Chris Hunt and the crew, they announced that Kenshi had now surpassed three million copies sold, which, for a relatively low-budget indie game, is astounding. There’s also a Beep plushie that’s gone up for pre-order now on Plush Foundry, already crushing its goal of 200 sales. But arguably the most exciting news is that we may soon be getting more info on Kenshi 2. In the post, the team shares that by far the most common question they get is “Kenshi 2 when?” This is followed by the usual frustrating statement Lo-Fi has always made in one degree or another, “We’d love to share more, but as Chris and Nat noted in our Meet the Makers video, ‘Things aren’t always made in the order that looks best for marketing.'” But then they also share that they’ve made a website, kenshi2when.com. There’s really not much there at all for now, but we can sign up to be notified when more news on Kenshi 2 becomes available. It’s been almost seven years since the switch to UE5 was first announced on 26 September 2019, and we’ve received precious little since then. This feels like official recognition that Kenshi 2 is nearing a degree of polish where we may soon get our first glimpses of the actual game. However, this is my opinion and likely fueled by pure “hopium.” Maybe all the GTA 6 hype over the last while has addled my mind. Still, exciting stuff. I honestly thought we would be playing Kenshi 2 before GTA 6, but at this point, it feels like even some concrete news on Kenshi 2 would be enough. Still, a big congratulations to Chris and the team for reaching such an impressive milestone, and I, for one, hope that development continues smoothly. One thing’s for sure, what we get will be worth the wait. As Lo-Fi puts it, “We appreciate your patience while we build a worthy successor to Kenshi, and an experience that will exceed your expectations.” I have no doubt that it will, and I can’t wait. And if you haven’t played Kenshi yet, it’s 72 percent off right now, but fair warning, it’s a rough old game and won’t be for everyone. 0The post ‘Kenshi 2 when’ website goes up as Kenshi surpasses 3 million copies sold, Beep plushie announced appeared first on Destructoid.
