Former MEP Cyrus Engerer has publicly challenged comments made by PN leader Alex Borg regarding mosques and Christian democracy.In a statement shared online, Engerer said there was “plenty worth reflecting on” in Borg’s recent debate, particularly on governance issues, but argued that one claim “cannot go unchallenged”.Engerer criticised Borg after the PN leader described himself as a Christian democrat while also saying he is against the building of mosques.“That is not a Christian democratic position.
