Popular content creator and internet sensation Rango Tenge Tenge, born Saad Ssozi, together with his father, has come out publicly to accuse his former manager, Michael Kabonge, of confiscating their social media accounts.According to Tenge Tenge and his father, the manager allegedly took control of all their digital platforms following a misunderstanding between the two parties. They further claimed that he even attempted to change the names of some of the channels after their fallout.Tenge Tenge and his father also accused Kabonge of failing to transparently share revenue generated from their YouTube channel. They alleged that despite Tenge Tenge being among Uganda’s top influencers, the manager would only hand them small amounts of money, sometimes below $200, which they would still be forced to split with him.The family revealed that the last time they reportedly received a substantial payment was about three years ago, when they had decided to part ways with the manager over suspicions of dishonesty. At the time, they claim they were paid Shs27 million, something they now believe was meant to calm the situation.“Manager Michael Kabonge took over all the social media accounts, claiming they belong to him, and even tried to change the channel names. Years back, he gave us about Shs27 million from the YouTube earnings after we had fired him because we had started noticing irregularities,” Tenge Tenge’s father explained.Steve Harvey eyes Uganda as a potential travel destinationHe added that since last year, the manager has allegedly been telling them that the channel is no longer performing well, yet they continue to believe the earnings are much higher than what is being reported to them.“Sometimes we fail to raise school fees for Tenge Tenge, yet he is one of the biggest influencers in Uganda. That is why we want Michael to return the accounts so we can get someone else to manage them fairly.” Tenge Tenge’s father also disclosed that they are now seeking legal advice to help recover the accounts and determine the rightful ownership and management of the platforms.“It has now been three years since he last gave us a reasonable amount of money.” Tenge Tenge, on his part, expressed disappointment over the situation, noting that despite spending years trending on social media, he has nothing to show for his success.“All the time I have spent trending, I honestly have nothing substantial to show for it.” The post Tenge Tenge and father seek legal action over social media account dispute with manager appeared first on MBU.
