Oh yes, doing that one favor is just the audition for getting roped into their demands. Medical transport would do the same job and would allow the spouse as attendant but would probably not allow an animal (unless a legit service dog) or any stops or extras including "chatiness" at a desired volume and quantity. If I were driving a stranger to an appointment I'd be focused on doing the job not entertaining . Thats why I don't chauffeur my neighbors around. A few early mistakes landed me in temporary hell and extracting myself from their neediness was uncomfortable.
