Traffic diversions for VIP movement near Hyderabad’s Maitrivanam junction on May 28 - The HinduPublished - May 28, 2026 01:32 pm IST - HYDERABADTraffic diversions will be in place for nearly 24 hours around Maitrivanam junction, Ameerpet, in view of VIP movements and a public meeting related to the inauguration of the NTR statue on Thursday (May 28, 2026).As per the advisory issued by the Hyderabad traffic police, the diversions will be effective till 11 p.m. on Thursday to regulate traffic and prevent congestion in and around Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Yousufguda and Jubilee Hills Check Post.Traffic coming from Ameerpet, Satyam Theatre and SR Nagar towards Yousufguda and Jubilee Hills check post will be diverted at Maitrivanam junction towards Vengalrao Nagar Kaman Road, Kalyan Nagar junction, Krishna Kanth Park and Yousufguda Basti to ease congestion. Vehicles heading towards Jubilee Hills check post from Satyam Theatre will be diverted via Ameerpet, Panjagutta and Jubilee Hills.Between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., traffic from Yousufguda check post, Rahmath Nagar and Yousufguda Basti towards Maitrivanam, SR Nagar and Erragadda will be diverted via Krishna Kanth Park, Kalyan Nagar junction, Vengalrao Nagar, SR Nagar and Ameerpet.Similarly, traffic from bylanes between Yousufguda Basti and Al-Saba Hotel will be restricted towards Maitrivanam and diverted via Vengalrao Nagar, SR Nagar and Ameerpet.Police have advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly and use alternative routes during the restriction period.
