A driver was hospitalised after his Hyundai i10 was crushed between two trucks in a three-vehicle collision on Triq Ħal Far, Birżebbuġa, earlier this afternoon.Police said the accident happened at around 1:45pm while all three vehicles were travelling in the same direction.Preliminary investigations found that the Hyundai i10 collided with the rear of an Iveco trailer driven by a 31-year-old man from Żurrieq. Moments later, the car was struck from behind by a DAF truck carrying gas cylinders, driven by a 36-year-old man from Paola.The impact left the Hyundai trapped and severely damaged between the two heavy vehicles.The driver of the Hyundai was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
