A festival of arts, culture, dialogue and collective reflection exploring migration, belonging and shared courage. As part of the 2026 Region of Culture programme, the Port Regional Council continues to expand its cultural outreach initiatives through the development of the Integrarti Festival – an initiative that celebrates diversity through artistic expression while fostering inclusive spaces where communities can connect through a shared sense of belonging.Building on this vision, this year’s edition features a collaboration with the Dance Beyond Borders Foundation. Through this partnership, the locality of Floriana has been selected as the official launch site for Refugee Week Malta, a local edition of the world’s largest arts and culture festival dedicated to the creative celebration of the contribution and resilience of people who have sought safety in Malta. The festival brings together refugees, residents, artists, communities, NGOs and cultural organisations to explore themes of migration, belonging and shared humanity through art, performance, discussion and collective experience. At the heart of this year’s programme is the concept of Qlubija – a form of courage rooted in heartfelt compassion and humanity. The official festival launch will take place on 2nd June at 6.30PM in Pjazza Papa Ġwanni XXIII, St Anne Street, Floriana. In addition to the launch event and the wider programme of activities, the Port Regional Council invites the public to visit the site between 2 and 19 June to experience a site-specific artistic installation created by VVX Foundry and Blue Door Education Malta, inspired by the festival’s central theme, “Qlubija – Courage.”Located within a garden that forms part of many people’s daily journey into and out of Floriana, the installation reflects Refugee Week Malta’s exploration of Malta’s own histories of movement and migration. It encourages visitors to recognise courage not as something distant or extraordinary, but as a quality already present within everyday life and human experience.Through four programme strands – Take Part, Learn and Discuss, For Families & Kids and Watch & Experience – the festival creates opportunities for encounter, reflection, learning and meaningful connections across communities. For more information visit: INTEGRARTI 2026 – Port Regional CouncilShare this with someone you know is interested•
