A local resident in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra district has been rewarded Rs 30,000 after lending his personal vehicle to police when their own was damaged during a dramatic pursuit of suspected drug smugglers. The chase, which lasted nearly two hours, involved bundles of currency notes allegedly being thrown onto the road, vehicles being rammed, and gunfire before one suspect was arrested. Police later recovered narcotics, cash, a weapon, and other items collectively valued at Rs 58.75 lakh.
