APPCB to host World Environment Day competitions - The HinduPublished - June 02, 2026 09:06 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAMThe Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Visakhapatnam Regional Office, will organise a series of competitions for school students on June 4 as part of World Environment Day celebrations.According to an official release, the theme for World Environment Day 2026 is “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future”, with a focus on collective action to eliminate plastic waste and promote sustainable practices.Elocution, essay writing, drawing and quiz competitions will be held at the APPCB office in Madhavadhara VUDA Colony from 9 a.m. Students from Classes I to VI can participate in the junior category, while those studying in Classes VII to X will compete in the senior category. A special parent–child creative duo event is also been planned.The competitions will cover themes including circular economy, plastic pollution, environmental awareness and sustainable living.
