When we got relegated in 2019, I stayed subbed and would put comments from time to time but every time I did all I'd get is abusive messages like "get out of the Champs sub, "Go to L1 sub", "you don't belong here" (and most with cursing like fuck off out this sub etc, so I wouldn't say it's an overreaction I know the difference between banter and actual abuse) every comment would come, without fail, of various club's fans giving shit if you weren't a Championship team. I've mostly lurked and not commented in the seven years since, but I did notice a lot more non Championship people posting and staying etc and there doesn't seem to be any abusive "fuck off cunt" etc messages any more. So it's a lot more welcoming than it was back then. They'd even only have flairs for Champs teams and wouldn't have flairs for Prem/League One and would delete your flair when relegated etc. So I dunno what changed in that time since since I'd only look now and then (since League One for so long) but I mostly just wanted to give props to the more welcoming subreddit than it was in 2019 submitted by /u/Muur1234 [link] [comments]
