A woman in our community reached out in a local buy nothing group, who was starting over after leaving an extremely abusive situation with nothing but the clothes on her back (let's just say this is a tiny town, and a bunch of people could verify this as true). She'd managed with the help of social services get a small apartment, and they did give her like a small fund for furniture and stuff (it was like $150), but obviously when you have nothing that doesn't get you much. She asked for the bare minimum. Not even a bed, just a mattress, she didn't mind sleeping on the floor. And nothing she asked for needed to be any specific brand or color and she was even okay if things were run down or broken as long as they were still functional. Let me tell you we rallied and everyone dug through their homes and garages for anything she may need. Because that's what a small community like to do when someone in genuine need isn't even fucking asking for much. This poster? Yeah, hell no. No one's rallying to help their spoiled asses out.
