A Pass, who is arguably one of the best vocal performers in Uganda, has urged fellow local artists to learn the art of pacing themselves while performing to avoid shouting on stage.Taking examples of artists that performed at Karole Kasita’s concert, A Pass noted that most of them were just yelling instead of singing. He noted that artists are often consumed by the vibe of the crowd, and they end up ruining their performances trying to project their voices over the crowd.PHOTOS: What you missed at Karole Kasita’s ‘The Power Within’ ConcertIn a video, A Pass noted that breath work and starting with less energy while performing is a big tip for artists who struggle with live performances.I work out so my breath work isn’t bad coz I can control it. The main thing is to pace yourself when singing. Don’t overdo it. I saw many artists, even at Karole Kasita’s show, shouting instead of performing. They shout because they want to project, so they exit the key ranges of their voices, trying to compensate and match the vibe of the crowd, but you have to not exceed your voice range. That can break your voice and ruin it by the time you perform the next song; you’re just noisy.Pace yourselves while on stage. Use less energy while you start your performance and slowly graduate through the next songs. The post Stop shouting, pace yourselves: A Pass shares tips for better stage performances appeared first on MBU.
