Hello! I had my first laparoscopy on Friday (5/29) with an excision specialist. They cut out 14 endo lesions and a bunch of scar tissue. My ovary was stuck to the scar tissue and they originally thought they were going to have to take it out, but luckily they didn’t! I was super worried about recovery. I have ME/CFS, POTS, MCAS, fibromyalgia, so I had no way of knowing how my body would react. Honestly, I’ve been recovering well! The pain from the laparoscopy is less than the pain I dealt with endo before, is that normal? They prescribed opioids, muscle relaxers, and prescription strength ibuprofen. I stopped taking the opioids day 1 post op and stopped the muscle relaxers day 2 post op. I’ve just been using ibuprofen today and I’ve felt fine. There is some pain but nothing as bad as the endo pains and cramps. Honestly the worst part wasn’t the incision pain but the throat and gas pain! It really makes me stop to think about all those years I dealt with horrible pain and pushed through it because doctors said it was “normal”. Just thought it was interesting and wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience! submitted by /u/Dear_Stretch5173 [link] [comments]
