Opposition MP Adrian Delia has addressed the Nationalist Party’s defeat in last Saturday’s general election, calling on supporters to learn from the result and continue working towards future success. Yes, it wasn’t the result we wanted, but I’m sure the work we did wasn’t for nothing. Everything we fought for left some result,” he wrote.However, Delia stressed that the outcome fell short of what the party had hoped to achieve and said recognising setbacks was essential for future progress.“We must continue working. We must be more focused in what we are doing. Working harder but smarter,” he said.The former PN leader also struck a note of resilience, arguing that defeats can become opportunities for growth.“When you fall, you find the strength to stand and do better,” Delia wrote.“Recognising our defeat is not failing but taking the first step to succeeding.”Delia led the Nationalist Party between 2017 and 2020 before being succeeded by Bernard Grech.His comments come as the PN continues to reflect on the election result and consider its next steps following another Labour victory.What changes would you like to see from the PN?•
