How does one beg a new doctor to see you sooner?

Wait 5 sec.

I need a little hype before I send a scary message to a doctor I haven't even seen yet. TLDR at the end. Backstory: I've been chasing major symptoms and doctors for about five years. I somehow made it to a pelvic floor PT who said it is probably endometriosis. She sent me to a doctor who specializes in later stage women's health so she thought I might have a better time than with all the OB focused doctors. I saw that doctor FOUR times complaining about pain and trying things. On the fourth visit she said "I'm a menopause specialist. I don't know why you were referred to me, and I can't help you." Ok. Whatever, but It would have been nice to hear that on visit 1. The issue is that this was February and I can't get in to see another doc until September. I'm on the wait list, but it's not moving because everyone is booked up with obstetrics patients. In the mean time I've seen an out of state excision specialist and I'm trying to decide if I should get surgery and possibly a hysterectomy. Unfortunately, my best timing window for surgery is in August. If I go through with it my first appointment with this new uterus doctor will be to say "Hello! I don't have a uterus anymore." TLDR: How does one beg a doctor you haven't seen to see you sooner? I'm fully expecting them to tell me to kick rocks regardless, but I feel like I need to try. PS: a friend suggested going in to the network's urgent care for "extra bad" cramps and hoping for a faster referral, but that feels kind of dishonest. submitted by /u/dogheartedbones [link] [comments]
