A long and confusing saga surrounding District 13 which saw both PL and PN claim victory at different times of the day has ended with a 3-3 stalemate after the constitutional corrective mechanism kicked in.Despite Alex Borg getting a very large number of first count votes (12,211) and all of PN’s candidates getting a combined total of 144 votes more than PL, a significant amount of inherited votes saw Labour win more seats, bringing the District’s seat split to 3-2 in their favour. However, for Parliament to properly reflect the total valid vote share, the next unelected PN candidate with the highest number of votes, Frank Anthony Tabone, was granted a parliamentary seats to correct this balance, creating an extra seat for PN and ending the district at 3-3.
