This remains me of the ex of my brother. Money was tight but she absolutely wanted to make the biggest party she could get. All the decorations from a kid movie that was popular at the time. It was horrible, and the birthday kid was fussy and tired. I was wishing for close relatives and cake. She is the first child at both sides of the family, and all of us wanted to be present and contribute with necessary things and some extra nice things, but this lady has a strong will and showing off it's a priority for her.
