He urged the Railways Ministry to expedite approvals and commence work at the earliest.The proposed redevelopment, which includes a third entry terminal, is expected to improve passenger amenities, decongest existing access points, and strengthen multimodal connectivity around the station. The project is also aimed at enhancing station accessibility.Priority for MysuruSeeking a larger role for Mysuru in future rail infrastructure planning, Mr. Wadiyar urged the Ministry to include the city in feasibility studies and long-term plans for high-speed rail projects.He said extending the proposed Chennai–Bengaluru high-speed rail corridor to Mysuru would strengthen economic integration between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu while boosting tourism, trade, investment, and employment opportunities.“A modern, high-speed and environmentally sustainable transport network would complement Mysuru’s expanding industrial and educational ecosystem and support the city’s long-term growth aspirations,” he said.Expressing confidence in the twin proposals, the MP said the station redevelopment project and a future high-speed rail connection would serve as catalysts for regional economic growth.Published - June 02, 2026 09:07 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
