Hi everyone, I had excision surgery in November 2025 to remove Stage IV endo. My doctor put me on 0.35 mg of Norethindrone after my insurance company denied Slynd. While I haven’t had a return in pain since before surgery, I feel like the Norethindrone is messing with my system. I’ve been on it now for 5 months, and I’ve experienced heavy bleeding that landed me in the ER (a follow up with my doctor got me a prescription for tranexamic acid which helped slow down the bleeding), short cycles every 22ish days, spotting throughout the month, and most recently breakthrough bleeding that had me thinking a cyst had ruptured. When I went to urgent care for the breakthrough bleeding, they gave me a prescription for 5 mg of Norethindrone for 10 days to stop the bleeding. The heavy bleeding stopped after a few days, and I’ve been spotting ever since. I had a follow up with my doctor today to go over options, and we settled on taking a break from BC completely for now since my cycles are so irregular. I’ll follow up again in a few months. Has anyone else been in the same boat post excision surgery— starting the mini pill, then stopping after you realized it wasn’t for you? How quickly did endo symptoms return, if at all?
