The High Court has ordered Uganda’s security agencies to produce missing musician Gody Christopher, popularly known as King Zale, after finding sufficient grounds to believe he could be in state custody following his alleged abduction in Kampala.In a ruling delivered on May 29, 2026, Justice Joyce Kavuma issued a writ of habeas corpus directing six government entities to present the musician before the court. The respondents include the Attorney General, the Special Forces Command (SFC), the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), the Uganda Police Force, the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), and Defence Intelligence and Security.The court ordered that King Zale be produced before the Civil Division of the High Court on June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.Nakiwala Lillian filed the application on behalf of the musician, who has reportedly been missing since the night of April 21, 2026.According to court records, King Zale was allegedly abducted near the Firebase offices in Kamwokya at around 8:30 p.m. Witnesses told the court that six armed men, some dressed in military uniforms and others in civilian clothes, intercepted the vehicle he was traveling in before forcibly taking him away in a Toyota Hiace, commonly referred to as a “drone.”Artist King Zale reportedly abducted by armed men in KamwokyaFollowing his disappearance, relatives and associates reportedly conducted extensive searches at several police stations, including Wandegeya, Kawempe, and Kira Road, but were unable to trace his whereabouts.The applicant further informed the court that King Zale had neither been formally charged before any court of law nor released since the alleged abduction.In response to the application, the Uganda Police Force denied having any record of the musician’s arrest or detention.After reviewing the evidence presented, Justice Kavuma issued a writ of habeas corpus ad subjiciendum, compelling the named security agencies to either produce King Zale in court or account for his whereabouts.King Zale’s fate remains unknown as family members, supporters, and human rights advocates await the outcome of the June 5 court appearance.The post Reveal King Zale’s whereabouts – High Court orders security agencies appeared first on MBU.
