[UPDATE v1.0.0.8] Nuvio Torrent Edition for PS5 – Instant 80GB+ 4K REMUX playback, no more buffer freezes, and built-in Web Drop

Wait 5 sec.

Quick update for everyone running the Torrent Edition on their jailbroken PS5: v1.0.0.8 is live. Took a lot of the feedback and crash reports from the initial drop and reworked the torrent engine under the hood. If you were hitting download freezes after 500MB or waiting minutes for massive 4K Blu-ray REMUXes to probe, this build completely fixes that. GitHub: https://github.com/chewlord76/nuvio-torrent-edition What's new in v1.0.0.8: Instant Fast-Start for 80GB+ 4K REMUXes (.m2ts / .mkv): Previously, raw Blu-ray .m2ts files forced FFmpeg to seek all the way to the tail of an 80+ GB stream just to calculate container duration before playing. That's gone. Quick-probe mode now caps probes at 2MB with seekable=0, meaning massive 4K REMUX streams start rolling in seconds instead of stalling out. Fixed the 0.00 MB/s Download Freeze: Reworked the sequential readahead pipeline. The old build had a hard piece-budget cap that accidentally choked the swarm after caching ~512MB. Readahead is now completely uncapped up to the full cache boundary (up to 4GB in unified memory), keeping download speeds saturated while you watch. Built-in Local Web Drop Server (http://:8088): No need to fiddle with on-screen keyboards for custom links. Just open the local web interface on your phone or laptop while on the same Wi-Fi, paste a magnet link or drag-and-drop a .torrent file, and it starts playing immediately on your TV. Automatic HDR-to-SDR Tone Mapping: If you're on an SDR monitor or your PS5 video output throws an invalid value error (0x80290003), it automatically falls back to hardware ITU-R BT.1886 tone mapping (10-bit HDR down to 8-bit SDR) rather than crashing the video pipeline. Updating / Installing: Grab the latest package from the GitHub Releases. Title ID is still PPSA99288—drop it into /user/app/ for Itemzflow or mount it via ShadowMount+ 1.7. Existing config, cached progress, and scraper addons will carry over automatically. If you test it out on some heavy bitrates, let me know how the buffer and peer speeds hold up for you on your setup! submitted by /u/Warm-Letterhead7321 [link] [comments]
