I've been an RN for a decade. Today was not the first time I've experienced sexual harassment as a male nurse, but it was the most extreme. I'm float pool and was working MICU and was cleaning my A&Ox4 patient (for the fourth time in the shift) after she was incontinent and out of nowhere she stopped me and started begging me to perform oral sex on her and started performing sexual acts on herself. I immediately stopped and left the room and asked two women on the unit to finish cleaning her up and told them what occurred. They offered to perform all hygiene for her for the remainder of the shift and I took them up on the offer and did tasks for them to help them to return the favor. I did not enter the room for the remainder of the shift without a woman accompanying me and documented what happened, notified the resident and attending, the CNA (also a man who then told me he got weird vibes from her and she made him feel uncomfortable during the shift when he had cleaned her by himself) charge and unit leadership and filed an incident report. Anything else different I should have done differently? It's my first time experiencing something that extreme. submitted by /u/shockedhouse [link] [comments]
