For nurses working on the floor in a hospital: what is or isn’t appropriate?

Wait 5 sec.

My husband has been in the hospital for several days. And let’s just say he has been kind of a butthead to deal with for his day shift nurse. We have been fortunate that he has had the same nurse for the last 3 days since being admitted. And his nurse has been super. Not that all the other support staff and other nurses haven’t been, but DH has been a little altered and confused so he has been difficult and at one point was adamant about going home AMA. But luckily the Dr felt he was not mentally sound to understand and sign the AMA forms. So here is my question. I know that giving a gift not okay and usually against policy unless it is for the floor staff. But I really want to at least give this poor nurse a credits at the coffee stand downstairs for what he has put up with from my darn man. Or what would be appropriate/acceptable?? I know everyone works so hard. And I really appreciate what all of them are doing for him. submitted by /u/Beautiful-Notice-792 [link] [comments]
