I built Compare Empire, a free price comparison site for Australia that reads 130+ real stores (also UK and US)

Wait 5 sec.

Australia has no good general price comparison site: the big ones are pay-to-list, so the cheapest store is often not on them. I kept opening ten tabs before buying anything, so I built compareempire.com. What it does: Compares the same product across 130+ Australian stores in 32 categories (phones, TVs, laptops, PC parts, coffee machines, LEGO, appliances, cameras, audio), about 20,000 products in stock today, plus UK and US editions Reads each store's own listings, so small specialists sit next to JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman; no store pays to be listed Prices are shown in the store's currency, never converted, and always sorted cheapest first Price history, price alerts by email, a Black Friday tracker, and a daily deals page Free, no account, no pop-ups. It runs on committed JSON and a CDN, so it costs almost nothing to host What I'd love feedback on: Is it clear within a few seconds what the site does and which country you're seeing? Does search find what you expect? Anything broken or slow on your phone? Disclosure: some store links are paid (the eBay and Amazon rows are labelled Ad); that never changes the order of the store prices. submitted by /u/Specificx [link] [comments]
