Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ian Borg joined President Myriam Spiteri Debono on a visit to Maltese patients receiving specialised treatment in London, bringing along a thoughtful surprise prepared by his wife and daughter.Borg revealed that his wife and young daughter Eve had prepared small gifts for the children and patients they would be meeting, hoping to brighten their days during a particularly difficult time.Sharing the gesture on Facebook, the Deputy Prime Minister explained that his family wanted to bring “a little joy and a smile” to patients and their loved ones. The visit included Great Ormond Street Hospital, where a three-year-old Maltese girl has been receiving treatment for a serious health condition for around three months. She is expected to remain in London for several more months, accompanied by her parents and young brother.Meanwhile, 40 Maltese patients are currently staying in the UK despite no longer being hospitalised, as they continue attending medical appointments and undergoing tests. For families spending months away from Malta, even the smallest gestures can help make a difficult experience a little easier.•
